What are the precautions for raw materials in precision parts processing

Time:2023-08-17 Preview:

Precision machining of mechanical parts is not possible with all materials. Some materials have a high hardness, which can exceed the hardness of the machined parts and potentially cause them to collapse. Therefore, these materials are not suitable for precision machining, unless they are made from special materials or laser cutting. So what are the requirements for data in precision parts processing? Let's take a look together.

The information on the processing of precision mechanical parts is divided into two categories: metallic information and non-metallic information.

For metal materials, stainless steel has the highest hardness, followed by cast iron, followed by copper, and finally aluminum.

The processing of ceramics, plastics, and other materials belongs to the processing of non-metallic materials.

1. Firstly, there is a requirement for the hardness of the data. In some cases, the higher the hardness of the data, the better. This is only limited to the hardness requirements of the processing machine parts. The processed data should not be too hard, assuming that it is even harder than the machine parts and cannot be processed.

2. Secondly, the software and hardware of the data should be moderate, at least one level lower than the hardness of the machine parts. It also depends on the purpose of the processed devices and the reasonable selection of materials for the machine parts.

In short, there are still some requirements for data in precision machining, and not all data are suitable for processing. For example, for data that is too soft or too hard, the former is not necessary for processing, while the latter cannot.

So, before processing, it is necessary to pay attention to the density of the data. Assuming that the density is too high, it is equivalent to a high hardness. If the hardness exceeds the hardness of the machine (lathe tool), it cannot be processed. It not only damages the parts, but also poses a danger, such as the tool flying out and injuring people. So, generally speaking, for mechanical processing, the hardness of the raw materials should be lower than that of the machine tool in order to be processed.
