What are the factors affecting the electroplating quality of metal die castings?

Time:2022-12-05 Preview:

The electroplating surface treatment of metal die castings is very important. If the electroplating is not done well, the previous work will be wasted. Therefore, we must pay attention to the electroplating process of products. What are the factors that affect the electroplating quality

1. For the selection of raw materials for metal die castings, the standard national standard materials must be selected for product die casting.

2. The design of hardware die castings shall be reasonable. For the shape of die castings, the shielding ability of electroplating shall be taken into consideration to minimize non through holes.

3. The die casting process and die casting die design are reasonable, so that the die casting will not have shrinkage cavity, pinhole, looseness and other defects, which will directly affect the adhesion of the coating.

4. During the production of metal die casting, segregation shall be minimized. If aluminum segregation occurs in some parts, the degreased aluminum will be dissolved first, resulting in air holes and pinholes on the die casting surface that cannot be cleaned, resulting in poor bonding strength and coating peeling and blistering.

5. Pay attention to measurement during polishing. The 0.05~0.1mm thin layer formed during die casting cooling is very important for electroplating. In the process of grinding and polishing, the loss of fine layer shall be minimized. If this layer is worn off, the porous structure will be exposed, and this layer will not have good electroplating.
