Introduction to basic knowledge of metal powder spraying

Time:2022-11-18 Preview:

1. The range of powder spraying area shall generally include:

(a) Except for local areas such as the spray gun outlet, the average concentration of suspended powder in the powder chamber (i.e. the concentration in the exhaust pipe at the outlet of the powder chamber) shall be less than half of the minimum explosive concentration of powder, and the minimum explosive concentration (MEC) of powder is unknown. The maximum concentration shall not exceed 15 g/m3. If there is explosion suppression equipment in the system, the concentration of suspended powder in the exhaust pipe at the outlet of the powder spraying chamber is allowed to exceed 50% of the minimum explosion concentration.

(b) The use of electrostatic powder gun and its auxiliary devices shall meet the requirements of GB 14773.

(c) The allowable concentration of total dust in the air of the workplace is 8 mg/m3.

(d) The wind speed at the opening of the powder chamber shall be 0.3-0.6m/s.

2. Location

2.1 Powder electrostatic spraying and painting shall not be set in the same working area. If it is set in the same working area, the explosion hazard area and fire hazard area shall be divided according to the painting area.

2.2 The dusting operation area should be arranged in a single storey workshop; If it is arranged in a multi-storey workshop, it shall be arranged on the top floor of the building; If it is arranged in a multi span plant, it shall be arranged in a side span and comply with the relevant provisions of GB 6514.

2.3 The dedusting operation shall be carried out in the dedusting room in accordance with Chapter 5.

2.4 The powder spraying room shall be arranged in the direction that does not interfere with the air flow, and devices that generate or dissipate viscous, corrosive, flammable, explosive and other media such as water vapor and acid mist shall be avoided. It shall be isolated from the area producing the above medium.

2.5 Powder spraying room shall not be used as paint spraying room.

3. Fire and explosion prevention

3.1 The surface temperature of the workpiece entering the powder spraying chamber shall be 28 ℃ lower than the ignition temperature of the powder used.

3.2 The dust removal area shall comply with the following provisions:

(a) It is not allowed to use ignition sources, open flames and spark generating equipment and appliances.

(b) Do not collide or rub to produce sparks.

(c) Heating equipment that will not ignite powder or powder shall be selected

Air mixture.

(d) Fire extinguishers shall be provided according to GB 50140, but fire extinguishers that are easy to disperse or pollute powder coatings shall not be used.

3.3 Reliable alarm device and automatic fire extinguishing system shall be installed in the automatic powder spraying room. In case of fire, the gas supply system and power supply can be cut off automatically.

4. Dust removal floor The floor of the dust removal area shall be paved with non combustible or flame retardant anti-static materials. The ground shall be flat and smooth, without gaps and grooves, so as to facilitate the cleaning of accumulated powder.

5. Dust proof cold light source lamps shall be used in the lighting powder spraying area, and the illuminance shall comply with the provisions of Article 4.3.1 of GB 12367-2006. When transparent materials are used as partition lighting, the following requirements shall be met.

(a) Use a fixed lamp as the light source.

(b) The lamp is separated from the powder spraying area by a partition, and its installation and sealing shall ensure that dust does not enter the lamp.

(c) The partition shall be made of non fragile, non flammable or non flammable materials.

(d) The thickness of sediment on the diaphragm shall not affect the specified illuminance.

(e) The surface temperature of the diaphragm shall not exceed 93 ° C.
